Daytime Testing

Daytime Testing
Sleep Disorder testing does not occur only at night. There are circumstances and disorders that require some testing to happen during the day.

Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (MSLT) is a test that occurs immediately following an overnight test in the sleep center. This test measures and documents a patient’s daytime sleepiness and is often used to diagnose Hypersomnolence and Narcolepsy.

Maintenance of Wakefulness Testing (MWT) evaluates how well an individual can remain awake during the day. It  can be used to gauge how successful treatment is for a patient or to demonstrate ability to remain alert when this is vital for a person’s job performance (such as commercial driving, airline pilot or public safety worker).

PAP Naps
Sometimes individuals who have been prescribed PAP have difficulty tolerating the face piece, air pressure or other aspects of PAP. In these cases a PAP Nap can be of enormous benefit. The patient works with a specialist in sleep and PAP therapy over and extended period of time to address issues, find appropriate and comfortable equipment and work on desensitization.
